Alon Maor joined BRM in 2011, and is responsible for life science investments. He brings to BRM an extensive background in healthcare as a senior executive with over 30 years' experience in the medical device business. Prior to BRM, in 2004 Alon founded Aesthera Corporation – a Kleiner Perkins-backed innovator of light-based technologies for skin treatments. He was CEO and Chairman from Aesthera’s inception through its acquisition by Solta Medical in 2010. Prior to this, he was Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Aesthetic Business Unit at Lumenis. Previously, he established ESC’s Asia operations, acting as CEO and growing the business to $38 million. Before this, Alon spent 10 years at Direx Medical Systems, during which he established Direx Japan as a leading player in diagnostic and therapeutic systems.
