Overview

Lyora Aharonov is co-founder and CEO of EMRIS Pharma, a new start-up company currently developing an innovative small molecule-based treatment to prevent skin toxicities induced by cancer targeted therapies. Throughout the past decade, Lyora has made significant contributions to several Biotech start-up companies, leading research and development efforts for therapeutic treatments and diagnostic tools. Prior to founding EMRIS, Lyora served as the Director of Research and Development at NurExone Biologic, an Israeli start-up developing nanoparticle-based therapeutics for the treatment of spinal cord injuries. She also held positions of Project Manager at Barcode Diagnostics where she led the development of a new technology for high-throughput diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 and at Adicet Bio, a pre-clinical stage biotechnology company engaged in the design and development of immunotherapies for cancer. Lyora holds a Ph.D. in biotechnology from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and brings extensive expertise in biological research with a proven track record of success in both academic and industrial settings.
